Personal Training at the Biltmore Fitness Center


Theresa Diane McQueen

Biltmore Fitness Director, Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach, Titleist Performance Fitness Certified, Personal Trainer, Johnny G Certified, and TRX suspension for Athletes.

Theresa McQueen is the fitness director at the Biltmore, one of the largest hotel membership gyms in the country offering over 130 fitness classes a week.

Theresa joined the Biltmore with more than a decade’s experience in the health, wellness and beauty industries. In addition to managing spas and health clubs in resorts such as the Biltmore and Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, she has worked for Stonewater Corporation as a general manager, supervising several locations in North Carolina and Florida. In addition, Theresa has traveled regionally, implementing training programs for Stonewater locations in various states.

Theresa received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a certified group fitness instructor, personal trainer and is also a Johnny G Spin coach. As a fitness professional and former athlete, Theresa has been very successful in implementing an aerobics and strength training program at the Biltmore which is almost inconceivable at most hotel fitness centers.  She has been actively involved in a variety of professional and civic organizations and has managed numerous fundraisers in Charlotte and South Florida. An avid fitness pro, Theresa enjoys hiking, biking, boating, and naturally, working out.

Ariel Alvarez

Ariel is a certified personal trainer through ISSA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and nutrition from FloridaInternationalUniversity.  He has over 6 years of training experience specializing in weight training, weight loss and nutritional counseling. Ariel has also competed in several amateur bodybuilding shows and is a state certified Firefighter/EMT- Paramedic.

Ann Anthony
Ann is both a Personal trainer and Group Exercise instructor. She is the creator of Hydra Pilates for which she travels internationally certifying water instructors. Anna holds AFAA and AEA Certification.

Jorge Cajina
Jorge holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exercise Science and is certified in Sports Nutrition, Fitness, and Sports Performance Enhancement. He is a Titleist Performance Institute certified Golf Fitness Instructor, and is also certified in ACSM, ISSN , NASM and NSCA-CSCS.

Erica Cohn
Former gymnast and athlete, Erica is a certified personal trainer and group instructor. She specializes in strength training, cardiovascular awareness, flexibility, and endurance. In addition, Erica is a licensed marriage, family and child therapist who specializes in eating disorders. She is a certified Pilates, Johnny G Spinning, Cardio Ball, and group fitness instructor. 

Aldrey Gomez
Aldrey specializes in Post-Rehab Fitness and is a certified Flexibility coach. He is certified in NASM, AFAA, ACE, NATA and IFPA.

Jonathan Gonzales
Jonathan has his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise and Sport Sciences. He specializes in training individuals who suffer from sports or medical injuries. 

Mark Johnson
Mark is an AFPA certified strength consultant with 10 years of personal training experience. In addition, Mark has 5 years of experience working as a Rehabilitation Specialist and Physical Therapy Aide. Mark uses a unique style of high-energy training which involves calisthenics, free weight movement and plyometrics.

Ron Lamb
Ron is a certified personal trainer and exercise physiologist with over 23 years experience. Awarded Top Trainer for American Welding society and Self magazine, Ron is a fitness lecturer as well as a former Penn State Football player and Florida Bodybuilding participant. His clientele ranges from celebrities and athletes to high risk individuals. He holds NASM, IDEA and AMS certification.

Alex Landa
Alex is a certified personal trainer with 20 years of experience. He is a former Mr. Miami winner (1997) and 2nd place in the Ana’s Classic competition (1995) in Puerto Rico. He is ISSA certified.

Carlos Llompart
Carlos is a certified personal trainer and former professional volleyball player for the Puerto Rican national team. His goal as a personal trainer is to be able to provide his clients with the perfect personalized training program. He is ISSA certified.

Monica Menendez
Monica holds a BS from FIU in Exercise and Sports Physiology. She has been a personal trainer since 1998 working with different high-risk populations including cardiac rehabilitation, cancer, obesity, high blood pressure, lower back injuries, musculoskeletal disorders and pulmonary disorders.

Kim Rowe
Kim is a former Jamaican Olympian as well as Ironman Athlete. He has coached several professional tennis players and structures his training on his original 1-2-3 Posture Program. Kim holds his BS in Exercise Physiology from the University of Michigan.

Mayile Salgado
Known from her intense lower body training, Mayile predominantly trains women of all ages looking for physique development. She holds both Aqua Pilates and Johnny G instructor certifications as well as NCSF.

Luis Silva
Luis offers more than 30 years in the fitness industry both as a highly accredited international athlete and peak fitness trainer. Luis was recently asked to the World Triathlon Series for his championship leads. In addition, Luis has had titles in Gymnastics, Judo, Mr. Portugal and Mr. Florida.

Gustavo Umpierrez
Gustavo is a former semi-professional soccer and football player. He specializes in achieving peak performance and physique goals from dedicated individuals. He is WISS and NCCPT certified.

Lisette Valdes
Lisette is a Certified Personal Trainer who specializes in intensive training techniques for those looking to compete in the fitness arena. Professional NPC Bodybuilder Certified by A.F.P.A in Personal Training, Lisette is also a certified law enforcement officer and defensive tactics instructor. At a professional level, she holds several middleweight titles and has competed in numerous regional competitions.

Lisa Wagner
NASM, NSCA, Fitness Institute Int, Titleist Performance Level One. Lisa specializes in restoring muscle imbalances and focuses on strengthening body and core weaknesses through corrective flexibility and strength training exercises. Lisa, evaluates her clients fundamental movement patterns to identify the areas which need more focus. With that information, Lisa will develop a program using both a systematic and progressive training approach to achieve the clients physical and physique goals.

Sensei Guillermo Gomez
A 3rd degree black belt, with over 20 years of experience teaching martial arts to numerous high profile clients including police departments, private companies, corporate groups and industry conventions, Guillermo has trained at the legendary Shaolin Temple in China and is an international presenter with numerous fitness training DVDs in retail stores worldwide.
