CORAL GABLES, FL. (Sept. 22, 2020) –   The Biltmore Hotel, a national historic landmark and luxury hotel in the heart of Coral Gables with one of a few operating recreational cooking schools in North America is excited to announce that it successfully completed its summer camp at its acclaimed Culinary Academy and is now offering reservations for its upcoming winter season.

With health and wellness in mind, The Biltmore’s Culinary Academy has established guidelines and an educational infrastructure to make learning to cook an experience that is safe, comfortable, and fun. The Culinary Academy provides a myriad of hands-on cooking instruction taught by celebrated Biltmore chefs.

As one of the few hotels in the country with a leisure cooking school, The Biltmore’s Culinary Academy is where future foodies learn how to work within the kitchen while gaining tremendous insight in the culinary field covering topics such as:

  • Techniques and ingredients of international cuisines
  • Techniques of presentation and garnishing
  • Techniques of baking and pastry
  • Menu planning
  • Kitchen safety
  • Sanitation of kitchen and food
  • Identification and proper usage of kitchen tools and equipment

In the academy, students get to learn to cook an array of foods from, favorite Italian dishes, sushi, pastries, and even healthy desserts. Within the facility, students are placed in socially distant stations and must keep face coverings on at all times. Classes are also small – up to eight participants maximum.

The Biltmore’s Culinary Academy offers a variety of classes, workshops and team building opportunities for small groups. Located within the hotel, the Culinary Academy has a dedicated learning center with a completely sanitized, fully equipped kitchen that is open to both guests and families from the local community. The Biltmore Culinary Academy also offers hands-on cooking camps for children during the summer months, which it recently completed. There are weekly classes and are limited to eight students per class. Classes start at $114 per person or $580 per week, and include one meal, chef apron, and all related cooking materials.
